On June 30th, 1967, Ella Fitzgerald and the Duke Ellington Orchestra stepped onto the stage at the Oakland Coliseum and delivered a performance that’s since remained unheard. Thanks to newly rediscovered tapes, this pivotal moment, where we find Ella at the height of her powers, is finally coming to light.
