Overview
CoursePath is a web-based platform created to help students confidently choose the right tertiary course by guiding them through a personalized quiz and curated recommendations. It combines thoughtful UX with friendly visuals to simplify a major life decision for young users.
What the Website is All About
CoursePath exists to solve a common but often overlooked problem: students feeling lost, pressured, or uncertain when picking a course of study. The platform aims to offer clarity through a guided quiz and content that connects with students' real-life concerns — like fear of regret, peer pressure, and lack of direction.
Goal
The main goal of this design was to create a clean, approachable, and user-centered experience that helps students understand their options and feel supported. I wanted users to feel guided — not overwhelmed — and to encourage interaction with clear CTAs and intuitive flows.
Problem I Faced During the Design
One challenge I encountered was ensuring the content-heavy sections (like “Why It Matters”) didn’t feel too text-dense or overwhelming for students. It was also important to design an experience that balances structure with empathy, especially for users who may be anxious about making the wrong decision.
Solution
To solve this, I used visual hierarchy, iconography, and relatable imagery to break down information into digestible pieces. I structured the homepage to guide users step-by-step — from understanding the problem to taking action. Friendly illustrations and warm colors were used to make the platform feel trustworthy and supportive. The quiz CTA is repeated in strategic places to encourage interaction without being pushy.
How the Design Benefits the Business
This design helps CoursePath build user trust, increase quiz engagement, and drive lead conversion. By simplifying the decision-making journey and addressing users’ pain points, it encourages more students to complete the quiz — giving CoursePath valuable data to improve recommendations and grow its user base. The approachable UI also boosts brand credibility, making it easier to gain partnerships with schools, sponsors, or institutions aligned with student development.
