The False Prophet
This post is part 1 of the Series: ‘Unmasking the Spirit: Discerning the True and the False Prophet in Today’s World.‘ By Samuel N Munga -QuedenEmpire.
How can I identify a false prophet? Let’s explore some truths about the false and the true prophet as taught by the Scriptures.
One person wanted to know whether a certain lady she was interacting with on Facebook was a prophet. I don’t know where this question came from, but the answer given by the lady is that she’s not a prophet. Because of that question, I promised that lady, whom I have known for some years, that I’d be writing about prophets.
Honestly, this is not only because of the two, but it has been my mind and heart to share what I believe will help at least one person here on Earth. This could be your mom, dad, sibling, friend, relative, colleague, or you, my reader. I will begin by revealing the thin line that exists between true prophets and false prophets.
Man’s Desire to Know What is Still in the Spirit World.
The desire in men to know the future from today, and that which is in the spiritual realm, has led many astray against God’s will. Many people, White, Black, and Yellow, have fallen prey to false prophets and, as a result, suffered significant damage (spiritual or physical). It is because of this, and some other reasons, that I find myself obligated to write something about prophets.
Before I give you some similarities between these prophets, may I say this: A PROPHET IS NOT A TRUE PROPHET BECAUSE HE OR SHE PREDICTED SOMETHING IN THE PAST AND THAT WORD CAME TO PASS, NO.
Even before you read further, the above statement provides important information for you, my reader, to consider. Many people have gone wrong in life because they didn’t have the right teaching. As a result, they make life decisions that are wrong and harmful to themselves and also to society.
A notable example of individuals in our modern world who made harmful decisions impacting society is the story of Shakahola, located on the northern coast of Kenya. The entire world was shocked to learn that many people lost their lives in the name of fasting and waiting on God. Why did so many individuals perish in this manner? The answer to this question lies in the teachings of Jesus Christ, as illustrated in Matthew 22:29.
In that Scripture, Jesus taught that many people go wrong in their lives because they lack knowledge of God’s will, which is easily found in the Scriptures. This means that all those people who lost their lives couldn’t have died had they known and understood what God had taught in his holy word.
Moses in the Old Testament taught the Israelites about the existence of two types of prophets- the true and the false (Deuteronomy 13:1-3 KJV). Moses told them it was not just a matter of performing miracles, signs, and wonders, but it was in the observance and fulfillment of God’s will. It’s clear from those verses that both true and false prophets can perform extraordinary things.
The key points to take home from the above scriptures are: i) That a false prophet can predict accurately. ii) If that prophet leads you to idolatry, or influences you to go against God’s holy word, don’t follow such; he or she is a FALSE PROPHET.
