Vocap is a language learning app designed to help learners expand their vocabulary naturally — through context, emotion, and personalized practice.

Capi Product was brought in to design the user experience and interface for the mobile application, with a focus on simplicity, motivation, and long-term engagement.

The project’s goal was to create not just a vocabulary tool, but a companion for those who want to live and think in their target language every day.

Vocap aimed to stand out from the crowded language-learning market, yet faced three major challenges:

Overwhelming user experience: Most vocabulary apps overload users with information and repetitive tasks.

Lack of emotional connection: Learners often lose motivation due to a lack of visible progress or personal touch.

Unclear learning journey: Users couldn’t easily visualize their progress or set personalized goals.

Capi Product needed to reimagine the entire user journey — turning vocabulary learning into an inspiring and emotionally engaging experience.

The design strategy centered on three key principles:

Personalized learning path: Allow users to define their goals, choose topics, and adapt lessons to their pace and context.

Emotional design: Soft gradients, friendly visuals, and a calm color palette foster comfort and emotional connection.

Micro-interactions: Subtle motion, tactile feedback, and gamified progress cues keep users engaged without distraction.

We streamlined the onboarding to help users define their learning goals early on — by topic, situation, or skill level. The home screen presents “Daily Cards,” a dynamic deck of personalized vocabulary tasks that evolve based on user performance and frequency of review.

The interface uses a white and soft lavender gradient to evoke calmness and focus. Rounded typography and spacious layouts reflect clarity and modernity, while card-based navigation enables quick, intuitive learning interactions.

The “Journey” screen visualizes learning milestones through progress maps and achievement badges. An AI-based reminder system suggests timely reviews of previously learned words, reinforcing long-term memory.
