Flock Specialty Brew Can Label Contest - CASE STUDY

A collaborative opportunity from Wild Goose Creative and ThunderWing Brewing to design the can label for ThunderWing Brewing's brand new specialty brew, Flock. This American Pale Ale is a unique blend of blueberry and apricot, with an ABV of 5.5%, offering a refreshing and fruity twist on a classic style.
The challenge was to create a visually striking design suitable for a 12 oz can that embodies the beer’s unique flavors—blueberry and apricot—while also reflecting the spirit of community, creativity, and unity.

The goose became a powerful visual motif for me, representing freedom, community, and a bit of risk. Diving into the world of graphic design, I felt this can was the perfect opportunity for me to blend my illustrative style with digital media. I began with a sketch and plenty of drafts.
The finished product captures the vibrant energy of both the craft beer and the local art scene. My design incorporates the symbolism of community and creative expression. My illustrative work showcases my personal style but I also carefully considered the need for readability and strong visual elements that would make the label stand out while maintaining an aesthetic that mirrors the refreshing, fruity qualities of the beer and some of the key branding ThunderWing Brewing always incorporates in order to ensure brand recognition.
