This website required very fast performance, with design that was visually-appealing while presenting relatively text-heavy content. Sparing yet effective use of UI bells and whistles (such as reading indicators) kept readers engaged without becoming distracted. A creative navigation system was built to meet the client's goals of publishing edition-based content, in a format more conceptually similar to a bookshelf than to blogs or traditional online magazines or newspapers.

On the back end, ExpressionEngine CMS was used to create and manage multiple content types, along with sophisticated yet easy-to-follow workflows for editorial oversight and scheduled publication. An aggregator was also created to automatically compile text and image content into ready-to-use email newsletters. Finally, a custom-built advertising platform was developed within ExpressionEngine to support several ad types and formats to meet specific client requirements.
