Revolutionizing Donations Through Resourceful's User-Centric Design.
Resourceful, a UC Berkeley Bootcamp project, evaluates the impact of community donations based on firsthand experiences in local and disaster-stricken contexts, inspired by our observations during the Maui wildfires. Through qualitative interviews and quantitative analysis, the project aims to refine donation strategies by understanding donor motivations, recipient needs, and resource allocation patterns. Resourceful seeks to drive more effective and empathetic community support practices.
Problem
Donors can be discouraged from donating physical items because of the lack information and transparency from donation organizations, which leads donors to have concerns about the efficiency of donation distribution, and whether their donated supplies and items are making it to people in need or not.
Solution
We developed a platform to match users with nearby local donation organizations based on the items and supplies that they would like to donate, allowing user to provide these organizations with the items they need and request most.
