Grim Temptations is an independently created bath and body brand, developed from the ground up to serve the goth and alternative community with a bold, feminine, and slightly twisted aesthetic. The brand blends pastel goth vibes with a femme fatale edge—designed to resonate with those who find beauty in the eerie and empowerment in self-expression.
I was responsible for every aspect of the brand, from concept to execution. Using tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Lightroom, InDesign, Canva, and Affinity, I designed the logo, packaging, product labels, and marketing assets. The visual identity strikes a balance between cute and creepy, combining soft color palettes with dark, dramatic elements to create a unique sensory experience.
Beyond visual branding, I also built and manage the Shopify website and a fully functional mobile app using Shopify extensions. Product photography, social media graphics, and customer touchpoints were all developed with a focus on consistency and emotional appeal—ensuring that every detail of the brand feels like stepping into another world. Grim Temptations is not just a product line—it's a small-batch self-care ritual wrapped in aesthetic rebellion.
All product photography for Grim Temptations was shot in-house using my Canon EOS RP mirrorless camera and a 24–105mm lens. This setup allowed me to capture both tight detail shots and wide, atmospheric compositions that showcase the full sensory experience of each product. I styled and directed every shoot to reflect the brand’s signature “cute and creepy” aesthetic—using moody lighting, luxe textures, and symbolic props that align with the brand’s mythic, feminine vibe.
Each image was carefully composed and edited to enhance the brand’s identity while staying true to the product's actual look and feel. I used Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for retouching, color grading, and consistency across social media, product pages, and promotional materials. The goal was to create a seamless visual experience that’s both immersive and scroll-stopping—whether viewed on a mobile app or storefront display.
Grim Temptations' packaging was designed to reflect the brand’s playful yet provocative personality while staying functional, legible, and market-ready. I created custom labels for a range of plastic containers, including jars, bottles, and spray canisters, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to balance high-impact visuals with practical product details.
Each label incorporates the brand’s distinct pastel goth aesthetic, featuring bold typefaces, decorative accents, and a dark-meets-dreamy color palette. I focused on maintaining consistency across product lines while allowing for subtle variations in theme or tone based on the product’s name, scent, or purpose. The goal was to create packaging that would not only attract attention online but also feel collectible—like pieces of an eerie self-care ritual waiting to be unwrapped.
To support product launches and build an engaged brand presence, I created a wide range of marketing assets for Grim Temptations—focusing primarily on Instagram, where visual storytelling is essential. These materials included launch teasers, product announcement carousels, promotional graphics, and seasonal campaigns designed to excite and inform followers.
Each piece was carefully styled to reflect the brand’s bold personality and distinct aesthetic, using dramatic visuals, stylized typography, and on-brand color palettes. I designed these assets in Canva and Photoshop for quick iteration and consistency, ensuring that every post felt like an extension of the world Grim Temptations invites customers into. Whether previewing a new scent or announcing a restock, the goal was always the same: to create intrigue, encourage clicks, and strengthen emotional connection with the brand.
Each email was designed to be visually consistent with the rest of the brand—utilizing custom headers, product photography, playful copy, and strong calls to action. The design aimed to balance aesthetic impact with usability, ensuring that mobile and desktop readers could easily shop or stay informed.
