Freelancing, or what others call Virtual Assistance, has been a popular career option for some time now. With the rise of the gig economy, more and more people are opting for the convenience and flexibility that comes with freelancing. However, some people may think that freelancing is an easy job to take on, especially when you only see the outcome and success of other freelancers on social media. But in reality, freelancing is much more difficult than you could imagine.
Before pursuing a career in freelancing, there are a lot of things to consider. The first thing to consider is knowing your niche. What is your area of expertise? Do you think it would help and lessen the workload of the client? If you don't have a clear idea of what you can offer, you'll have a hard time landing a client.
Another thing to consider is building your portfolio while upskilling. Having a portfolio is essential in showcasing your skills and experience. But what if you're just starting out and don't have any previous projects to show? That's where upskilling comes in. You have to study and learn new skills to add to your portfolio. It may be difficult, but it's necessary.
Lastly, the most stressful part of freelancing is landing a client. It's the main struggle that freelancers face. It takes time and patience to find a client who will trust and invest in your skills. Some people may think that freelancing is easy money, but the truth is, it could take a year or two before landing a client. Struggle is real to the nth power opdayunibers! As in GRABEYCIOUS!
In conclusion, freelancing is not an easy job. It takes a lot of hard work, patience, and dedication to succeed in this career. So if you're considering freelancing, you should know that it's not a walk in the park. It's a challenging but rewarding career that requires a lot of effort and commitment.
