Mooncat Bets - Logotype & Mascot

A self-initiated concept. One question: what does a crypto-native betting brand look like when it's built for the community, not marketed at them.

Every mark starts on a grid. The MCB icon built from geometric construction.

Mascot variations
Ten iterations. One direction.
The mascot went through three rounds of exploration — body stance, chest symbol, head detail, and antenna variations all tested separately. Early versions carried chart lines and checkmarks, probing how much "betting" to make explicit. The head evolved from a simple lens to a spoked wheel to a clean circle — each step stripping back complexity until the form could hold at icon size.
The chosen direction, highlighted in teal: minimal body, trophy chest, pure circle head. No decoration that doesn't earn its place.
Started with a stylus, not a brief.
The mascot was drawn by hand in Procreate — no vector shortcuts, no AI generation. Stroke by stroke, the character took shape: cat ears, circular head, trophy body. The screen recording captures every revision in real time — proportions pushed and pulled, limbs redrawn, personality iterated until the posture felt right.
Only after the character had a soul did it move into Illustrator for vectorisation and system integration.
Drawn. Not generated.
Dynamic logotype
Dynamic logotype
One mark. Four configurations.
The lockup system covers every context the brand will live in. Full mascot with horizontal wordmark for headers and hero placements. Stacked version for square formats — app stores, social avatars, merch. Inline cat-head icon with full name for UI and navigation. Monogram lockup — MCB — for when the brand is already known and brevity wins.
Same character, same weight, same confidence at every size.

Full colour with chromatic lighting, holographic texture, and a cosmic environment built around it. This is the brand at its loudest: a character with enough visual depth to anchor a homepage, a game screen, or a token drop.
Illustration timeline
The process started with the character silhouette already locked from the vector stage — the illustration's job was to give it a world. Layer by layer: base forms, then the iridescent chrome plating on the body, then the glitch-pixel face, then the cosmic environment built around it — sports balls orbiting like satellites, gold coins scattered on the lunar surface, the fluid background pulling everything into a psychedelic depth.
The chromatic sheen on the armour wasn't planned — it emerged from blending modes mid-session and stayed because it fit the crypto-native aesthetic better than anything intentional would have.

Mooncat Bets started as a question: what does a betting brand look like when it's built for people who don't trust traditional betting brands?
The answer turned out to be a TV-headed cat sitting on the moon, surrounded by orbiting sports balls and crypto coins — drawn by hand, vectorised with precision, and rendered into a world.
