Problem & Solution 🤝

The scope of this project was to create a solution that would include mainstream and independent music on an internet radio platform that did not rely on traditional FM and was solely playlist based, that would help break music by indie artists in the most desirable and seamless way as possible. The solution was to create HomeBase Radio, which showcases predominantly Hip Hop and R&B music genres, offering independent artists a higher probable chance to get heard by the masses. It includes weekly music charts that is based on shuffle play probability, as well as deep music analytics charts that are based on listener retention via Spotify and other platforms.

Goals/Requirements: • Create a branded playlist radio platform that increased the probability of independent artists’ music getting heard • Break new music using niche custom playlists • Create earning potential via affiliate programs and custom playlists

Process 🛣

The steps taken to successfully launch the project involved a thorough analysis of the current urban music market and areas of weakness where a platform such as HomeBase Radio could be successful. It is still in the beginning stages but has been steadily growing at a pace that matches the promotional effort thus far.

Results 🎁

- Currently charting over 80 artists per week.

- Automatic artist promotion is built into the project’s concept, ensuring high success probability rate.

- Recently launched Live On Air via Stationhead, which exponentially increases the number of music streams for charting artists.
