Self-initiated portfolio project. Demonstrates implemented functionality and is not presented as a client engagement. Features and integrations are described according to their verified implementation status.
FlowPilot is a workflow execution demonstrator that breaks a task into explicit steps, tracks execution state, and requires human approval before finalizing. It emphasises observable execution, error handling and reviewable results.
Workflow dashboard
Problem
Automations that act without visibility or a human checkpoint are hard to trust.
Solution
Each run executes real steps one at a time on the server and records every state change in an execution log. It pauses for an approve/reject decision and only then finalizes the report.
Execution in progress
Key features (implemented)
Step and run state machine with enforced transitions; steps run strictly in order
Human approval checkpoint that cannot be skipped; rejecting requires a reason and ends the run
Retry for transient failures (with a clearly labelled fault-injection switch to demonstrate it) and cancellation
Execution log, step inspector, Markdown report and JSON execution export
Two templates: competitor briefing (from notes you supply; no live research) and customer feedback triage
Human approval checkpoint
Engineering
Pure, unit-tested engine functions; Zod validation of every run state; server-side step execution through Next.js route handlers. 25 unit/integration tests and 10 browser tests (desktop and mobile).
Limitations
Works only on data you supply and local state; no third-party integrations. Runs are not persisted server-side. The live demo uses rule-based analysis (no AI key configured).
A working workflow engine: explicit steps, tracked state, an execution log, retry and cancellation, and a human approval checkpoint before anything is finalized
