THE BRIEF
A client and his friends had a roughly 30 GB Minecraft world they wanted to keep. Their pack had grown beyond 275 mods, with compatibility problems and terrain generation so slow that exploring became frustrating. Starting a new world would have meant leaving their builds behind.
WHAT I DID
I worked through mod-version conflicts, tested terrain generation on a separate server, and adjusted the setup. I investigated a further failure involving Create items and the inventory, then tested the actual client save. I checked the existing builds, distant terrain, shaders, and the Nether and End.
THE RESULT
The existing world loaded with its builds preserved, and the recorded tests showed faster terrain generation and exploration. The displayed generation runs moved from roughly 14–22 to 150–190 chunks per second. Those figures describe the runs in this case, not FPS or a performance guarantee for other packs.
MY ROLE
Modpack repair, server configuration, compatibility troubleshooting, terrain-generation testing, and validation against the existing save.
