Repairing a RAM-Hungry Minecraft Modpack

THE BRIEF A paid Minecraft modpack repair involving repeated crashes, heavy memory use, and requested content that needed to work together. Simply allocating more RAM did not resolve the underlying problems.
WHAT I DID I investigated compatibility and loading failures, tested changes on the client and server, and reviewed the pack’s model-loading report. I assessed which additions duplicated existing content and made targeted trade-offs while restoring the requested core mods. I then checked gameplay, logs, and chunk generation in the Nether and End.
THE RESULT The final recorded checks showed the requested core content working, exploration and dimension tests running, and lower observed Java heap use. Gameplay snapshots moved from roughly 15–16 GB earlier in the investigation to around 6–7 GB at the end. These were different test stages, not a controlled benchmark; loading still required an allocation of around 10 GB.
MY ROLE Modpack troubleshooting, compatibility analysis, configuration, memory investigation, content trade-offs, and client/server testing.
