Overview 🔎
Productlane is a tool that helps you collect user feedback and link it to your Linear issues and projects.
I took the project over from the co-founding dev, and handled all things tech while the product was still in it's infancy.
The whole web app is written in React, more specifically Blitz.js (a Next.js fork) and Prisma.
We used Figma to manage design and Linear (who would've thought 😉) to track issues, bugs, and progress on features.
There was a fair bit of dogfooding: We made sure to use Productlane ourselves to get feedback about Productlane!
Here's a couple highlights:
Public Signups & Pricing
When I got on board, Productlane only accepted waitlist signups, slowly onboarding more and more users.
We prepared the launch of both the site as a whole, as well as implementing pricing through the Stripe API.
I implemented the designs Raphael, the founder, worked on. Additionally, there was a number of changes to make on the backend-side of things.
Slack Integration
The Slack API allowed us to easily implement our most-requested feature. Users voted for this feature on the Roadmap (Productlane users can create their own Roadmap just like this one)
With it, you can create feedback right from your Slack workspace. Either push single messages, or designate a whole channel to push every message sent to it, to Productlane.
Then we did the reverse: Users could opt-in to get notified whenever users left feedback through other means.
