Yellow Tail - AI Music Video

Yellow Tail – Music Video is an AI-generated French chanson that combines AI music generation, image synthesis, and animation to bring a whimsical story to life: a cheerful old man and his six kangaroos singing about their favorite Chardonnay.
(Final music video at the end of this Case Study.)

INSPIRATION

For my mom’s 78th, I wanted to give her something that captured her love for France and the timeless chansons we listened to on road trips in the 80s. Though Yellow Tail is an Australian wine, I turned it into a French song — performed by an old man joyfully singing about his favorite wines, accompanied by six dancing kangaroos. He sings of Merlot, Pinot, and Prosecco… but his heart belongs to Yellow Tail Chardonnay. It’s a lighthearted blend of nostalgia, humor, and warmth, written in the spirit of Aznavour, Brel, and Gérard Lenorman. This project is an artistic fan tribute, made out of genuine admiration for the joyful spirit of [ Yellow Tail ]

HOW I MADE IT:

The lyrics began in English, then were refined and translated into rhyming French with ChatGPT. Music was composed using Suno, inspired by 1980s French chanson style.

The logo was made with Ideogram.

Animation and lipsync were created using KlingAI, Weavy, Sync2Pro, and Pixverse, while non-singing sequences came from Freepik Veo3. Final editing and color grading were done in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Lumetri.

CHALLENGES:

The most challenging aspect was achieving realistic lipsync — I had to merge results from multiple tools to create natural timing. And it is still not perfect.
Maintaining high-quality, full-body shots in motion was another struggle; many engines couldn’t retain the detail of the 5K stills. Even with Topaz Starlight and Astra, balancing realism and style required constant refinement.
