Chapter 1

It was a cool summer night, and Ariel and Jess went to the new club in town. The club was a jazz club. Ariel and Jess were into other types of music than their other friends, so they made this night for themselves.

Do you think that we should try to meet new people tonight, Jess asked. Ariel looked at Jess and asked why to look for new friends when we both needed a man.

When Jess and Ariel entered the club, they went to the bar to get an apple martini before grabbing a set and watching the band play. When the girls were settled, they saw two men at the bar getting drinks heading toward them. When the men got to the women, they asked if they could join them.

Ariel spoke up, said you can only join us if you take us for a twirl on the dance floor lather. One of the men spoke up, saying if you want, I can take you out to dance on the floor right now; bye the way, my name is Ben.

Ariel looked at Ben, got up from her seat, took Ben’s hand, and dragged him onto the dance floor. Ariel and Ben dance to two songs before joining their friends at the table.

So, what do you do for a living? Ariel asked Ben. Well, that is atchley a funny thing for you to ask, Ben said. I work at the club, it’s my first night Ben said. n

Oh, how do you think it’s turning out for the first night anyway Ariel asked. I believe that it is doing well for the first night. The club is not just a jazz club; it has other opportunities in the field. Ben said.

Ariel says you sound more like an owner of the club than some buddy that works here. If I told you that I did own the club, how would you feel about that, Ben said. Well, I would say that I hope that it goes well for you, but just to tell you, money is not everything, Ariel said

After Ariel said what she said, she realized that Ben was looking at her funny, in a way that no one had looked at her before. After she saw the look that he gave her, she looked away and started to talk to Jess.
