CampusReport

Brandon McConnell

CampusReport was a project requested of me by Florida Atlantic University as a part of the Principles of Software Engineering class. The app provides students on campus with a simple 1-step method to reporting broken or misplaced items on campus, or anything else that would warrant the attention of FAU's campus security staff with the exception of safety concerns, in which case the app directs users to contact either the campus police or 911 depending on the severity of the situation.
CampusReport was built in WordPress, full with a back-end ticket management system (still in development). The theme is 100% custom, coded in Bootstrap 3 from the ground-up to be mobile-responsive. The forms are handled via Gravity Forms which—upon receiving a new user submission—immediately notifies the user letting them know their request has been received, and also notifies the staff informing them of the submission, including all details including GPS coordinates if available and provided.
The design was intended to be extremely minimal, which is why I opted for a one-page flow once the user has authenticated their account and logged in.
