Foat & Griffin - Wilderness, Redesigned
Brand identity · Website design · Print collateral · Art direction
The Brief
Foat & Griffin design gardens that work with nature, not against it - thoughtful, wildlife-friendly spaces rooted in sustainability. Having built a strong reputation across Bristol, the studio was expanding into Devon and needed their digital presence and print collateral to grow with them. I worked as creative designer and art director across two connected phases: a full website rebuild and SEO overhaul, followed by a complete print rollout to launch their Devon presence at the Devon County Show.
Phase One: Website Redesign
The brief started small - a request for SEO help spotted in a local Facebook group and grew into a full site rebuild:
• Rebuilt on a fully customisable WordPress framework, giving the team ongoing control over content • Simplified the UI and navigation, stripping the structure back to a cleaner, more intuitive user journey • Implemented 'on-site SEO' restructured content, metadata, and site architecture to improve rankings for key search terms and boost organic visibility
The result: a faster, easier-to-navigate site that better reflects the studio's calm, considered design ethos and performs better in search.
Phase Two: Print Rollout - Devon County Show
With the Devon expansion locked in and a two-week runway to the Devon County Show, the brief shifted to stall design and print production. Working from the site's new visual language, I developed a cohesive print system:
• A5 double-sided leaflet • 8-page A4 brochure with editorial-style layout • A1 display boards • Branded Merch
The Result
Foat & Griffin's stall took home the 'Silver Medal for Best Stall Design' at the Devon County Show - a strong debut for the brand in its new region, and proof that the identity translates seamlessly from screen to soil. It was a genuine pleasure collaborating with a great local print partner to hit a tight turnaround without compromising on quality - sourcing the right stock, finishes, and suppliers to get maximum impact within budget.
