RingFree Communication – Metered Billing System

RingFree Communication needed a reliable way to handle usage-based billing at scale. Manually processing usage data and converting it into accurate customer charges can become complex quickly, especially when billing needs to stay synchronized with sales orders and invoices.

I developed a custom metered billing solution within Odoo that automated the complete usage-to-invoice workflow. The system imports usage records, processes and calculates billable consumption, and connects the resulting charges directly with Odoo Sales Orders and Invoices—reducing manual processing and improving billing accuracy.

Because the solution needed to handle large volumes of usage data efficiently, I optimized the data-processing layer using SQL-based operations to improve performance and scalability. I also developed detailed reporting capabilities so the team could easily review usage, billing calculations, and transaction history for operational and auditing purposes.

Throughout the project, I maintained direct communication with the client to understand the billing logic, validate requirements, and ensure each stage of the implementation matched their business processes.
