Data Center Modernization

Modernized a majority physical hardware datacenter to include virtual network and system equipment increasing the utilization percentage and creating a scablable solution.

All physical servers were converted to virtual system on a VMWare Hypervisor loaded on multiple Poweredge FX2 Chassis with Poweredge FC830 blades. Systems included domain contollers, file systems, mail servers, web proxys, and more.

Physical network equipment required for routing to the indivdual racks in the datacenter were virtualized to include routers and firewalls utilizing the VMWare NSX software installed within the VMWare suite.

Physical laptops were replaced with VMWare Horizons available on personal devices elimanting the need to image and ship laptops globally to cusotmers.

This modernization increased the utilization from 5% to 50% and future maintenace costs were decreased by 50%.
