Moving to Pennsylvania Resources
Drivers license info for new residents: New residents are required to get a Pennsylvania driver's license within 60 days of moving to Pennsylvania permanently.
To apply for a Pennsylvania state license, you have to appear in person at a Driver License Center.
Prior to getting your license, you'll need to take a vision screening test and complete Form DL-180R (the application).
You'll also need to show proof of ID and residency, as well as your social security card.
All of your documents have to show the same name and date of birth or an association between the information in the documents. Out-of-state learner's permits can't be transferred to Pennsylvania.
Vehicle registration info: New residents of Pennsylvania have to apply for a Pennsylvania title and vehicle registration within 20 days of moving to Pennsylvania permanently.
You're required to have a valid form of Pennsylvania identification in order to apply for a title and registration.
Title procedures in Pennsylvania required that any out-of-state titles be surrendered to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at the time of your application for the title and registration.
A title will only be issued to you once the out-of-state title is submitted with a completed application. I
n order to register your vehicle, you'll need: a valid title for all of your vehicles, issued in your name, from your previous state; proof of insurance; a tracing of the VIN number or the verification of the VIN by an inspection mechanic or notary public at a dealership or issuing agent; and the appropriate fees.

Voter registration: Once you get a permanent address in Pennsylvania, you have to register to vote at the address you live. Owning a business or a property in the state of Pennsylvania doesn't mean you're legally a resident. To register to vote, fill out a voter registration application form online or fill out and mail the paper application.
You can also register to vote in person at your county voter registration office or at PennDOT and several other government agencies.
