Display Text: You are not alone in your gender affirmation journey
Are you a trans or non-binary person struggling with pelvic pain?
Is it difficult to find a doctor you can trust to help you?
If so, you’re not alone in this battle.
Some health care providers see pelvic pain as a cis-gender women’s issue, but that’s simply not the case.
That’s why I created this video to share 3 important pieces of information that health care providers might not realize or share with their patients.
To help you feel more empowered in your gender affirmation journey, I want you to know that…
1. Your pain is not in your head. Your pain is real even if your health care providers don’t see what’s going on. (Watch @1:26 to learn what is often overlooked.)

2. Changing your posture, body shape, and muscle structures can actually cause pelvic pain. Finding a gender-affirming pelvic floor physical therapist can help you reduce the pain caused by bodily changes.

3. Creating a mind/body connection is crucial. Traumatic experiences can create a chronic fight-or-flight state in the nervous system, which may cause a disconnect of the mind and body. (What to do? Go to @3:02 to learn more.)

Even though navigating health care as a trans or non-binary person can be challenging, there IS hope for finding the pain relief that you need and deserve. This video is here to help you.

Which came first? Depression and anxiety or pelvic pain and sexual issues?
It’s often hard to tell with this kind of a chicken-or-egg situation, which is why you may feel out of control when it comes to pain management and sexual avoidance.
To better understand your situation, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can offer skills and techniques to help you gain a sense of control over your pain and sex life.
In this video, I explain a few techniques and skills that can help you identify patterns and feel empowered in your journey towards pain relief and sexual wellness.
Here are 3 takeaways from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that can support you:
1. Building communication, relationship, and assertiveness skills. Go to @1:24 to learn how these skills can alleviate the relationship avoidance that pelvic pain often causes.

2. Learning relaxation and stress reduction techniques that help you manage your pain.

3. Keeping a pain diary. This will help you figure out why, how, and when you experience pain. By doing this, you can identify the patterns of your pain and become more empowered to make the changes necessary to heal it. Watch @3:06 to learn more.

Check out today’s video to learn how these methods can speed up your pain relief treatment.
