Smart Water Network Platform UX

I was tasked with creating a brand new intelligent insights, analysis, and control platform for smart water network devices as part of an engagement with Inframark. The timeline for the project was 3 months. I was the sole designer.

My process was to meet the team and key stakeholders, understand the competitive landscape, and rapidly consume and understand the technical documents handed to me. Once I had a solid foundation, I went to work on the UX.

Multiple rounds of wireframes and iterations later, and the final product emerged. The interface was a highly interactive map-centric layout, with panels that come in as needed. This allows the user to have network level insights into trends and patterns, and dive deeper without losing context. Finally, they could expand the panel to full screen for in depth analysis. This modular approach also worked on list views, so the user had flexibility on how they wanted to work.

The final deliver included high-fidelity designs, a Figma prototype, and an underlying design system.
