Complete redesign of the Yuse App.

Yuse is a one-stop-shop solution for all cryptocurrency needs, allowing users to buy, sell, swap, and exchange their coins on a decentralised wallet. As they were gearing up for their next investment round, urgent design expertise was critical—both in terms of a rebrand and a thought-out user experience. Working with the leadership, I helped their vision come to life in the form of a complete redesign of the App, addressing the core needs of the users.

Problem

The App doesn’t look secure.
Uncertainty about certain actions adds to the confusion.
Confusing Navigation.
Lack of timely and relevant feedback.
Inconsistent design patterns

In the initial reserach the major problem we found was the lack of trust.

This helped us define the goals to drive the design decisions moving forward. Rather than focusing on distant, complex objectives, we centred the process around bite-sized steps that would eventually add up to reaching the original goal.
The whole experience is to be developed as a way to build trust, supporting users make informed decisions and helping them complete their tasks without friction. Therefore, the main focus areas for us were:
Inclusive and consistent user experience
Keep the user informed.
Simple and clear user journey.
Clean and Modern look.

Design

To ensure the design to be consistent, we needed one source of truth: a design system.

Inclusive and Consistent experience

Designing a few screens first gave us an idea of the basic elements for our design system and helped us lay the foundation in the form of colour, typography, spacing, grid, etc.
Working as a solo designer meant I had limited time to spend developing the Design System alongside other rapid UX work. Therefore, instead of designing the screens or components first, we decided to build both parallelly and make changes to them simultaneously.
Having a foundation set up, we could now focus on solving the core user problems without worrying much about the colour, text or button sizes.

Keep the user informed at all times

The following example shows how first-time users were informed about everything they must be careful about or should know before taking any action to help them make better decisions.

Simple and clear user journey.

Instead of tackling each user the same, we laid out clear and intuitive paths based on user intentions.
The returning user
Users logging in for the first time but already have a wallet.
Someone completely new to the crypto space.
