But, they have so many products available how do you know which ones are best for African American skin?
I’ll break down the ones that I absolutely love and have seen great results with.

Which Olay Cream is Best for Black Skin?
The one that I stand behind religiously is the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide.
I love that I get the benefits of hyaluronic acid which helps increase hydration to your skin giving it that glory look and the benefits of niacinamide which reduces the appearance of fine lines.
I will say the other thing. love about this product is that it has helped reduce my hyperpigmentation which is a common concern in our skin type.
Is Olay good for African American Skin?
ABSOLUTELY! I have been using Olay since I was a little girl and I have had zero issues with burning, additional breakouts or the dreaded skin purging (went through this with Charlotte Tilbury and lawd it sucked).
What I love about Olay is that you can find and mix and match products based on your concerns and not worry about your skin freaking out during the adjustment period.
For example their Retinol 24 Max Night Moisturizer has 24% more retinol than the regular version and having tried it I get a tingle that lets me know it’s working and that’s IT.
I don’t do burning and itching for anything lol
Which Olay is Best for Hyperpigmentation?
Olay Regenerist Vitamin C + Peptide
Ahhhh the ever present battle that we brown skin beauties have to battle…I’m talking hyperpigmentation 😤
The product that I have found that work best is first their Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream BUT the product that was made specifically for hyperpigmentation is as part of that line their Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Brightening Face Moisturizer.
This cream has vitamin C and niacinamde peptide both help with dark spots, hyperpigmentation and making the skin look for vibrant.
I personally like to switch back and forth between the OG and the vitamin C moisturizer but again, the great thing about Olay is you can prioritize which skin issues you want to solve for first and pick your products from there.
Is Olay Body Lotion Good for Dark Skin?
Short answer…yes…and it also depends.
This one varies based on how you want to smell and if you have dry, combination or oily skin. I use La Roche Posay as a base no matter what and then I apply my “smell good” lotion on top which is usually Bath & Body Works.
HOWEVER before I started down the B&B rabbit hole I loved the Olay Collagen lotion. I tell you my skin felt so so soft and I could see my skin getting firmer the longer I used it.
But I did not like the smell I personally wanna smell like a whole sweet candy store hence why I went back to Bath and Body Works lol
