Statue Design // SYMBIOSIS

Kaylee Barnett

Overview 🔎
The Wetlands acts as a site of preservation, education, and
community involvement for Clark County. A place where
people can immerse themselves in nature, and become a part
of its conservation.
This statue aims to show the healthy and mutually beneficial
relationship that we can have with the world around us. The
symbiosis between mankind and the elements of nature.
Problem & Solution 🤝
PROBLEM // Design a temporary statue that is made from recyclable materials and can be assembled/disassembled
SOLUTION // Create an interlocking system of recycled plywood panels that can be completely disassembled
Goals/Requirements: • Design a way to attach plywood panels with minimal fasteners required • Design a statue that keeps the environmental values of the Wetlands Park at its core • Use a CNC router to cut plywood sheets into simple silhouettes representing sky, mountains, earth, water, and mankind
