Usbrella - Social Media App

Usbrella is a Social Media app that is targeted at connecting African Americans.

I used the 5 -Step design thinking process to design this app beginning from User research.

I conducted two interviews and sent out google forms to gain insight into user needs, painpoints and preferences.

In other to better understand my users, I created User Personas and Empathy Maps, I noticed that I had two major groups, users who use social media for leisure and connectivity and people who use social media for business and economic purposes. Hence I created two different Personas

Putting myself in the users shoes to better understand their pains and gains, I created an empathy map.

A comprehensive design system was created for this project.

A seamless and easy user onboarding to ensure user conversion.

The platforms were a key feature of the app providing an easy way for users to engage on a particular topic. They were really for learning or teaching a skill.

Chatrooms were another interesting feature as users could create private or public chatrooms and chat away!
