Upcred.it - API for Usage-Based Pricing

Objective: To create a comprehensive API that enables seamless integration of usage-based pricing into any product, offering an alternative to traditional subscription models.

The idea for Upcred.it was born out of a frustration with the high costs and inflexibility of subscription-based payment models. I noticed that many subscription services often charge for features that users might not fully utilize, leading to a perception of overpriced offerings. This led me to envision a more flexible and fair pricing model—one based on actual usage. My goal was to develop an API that any product could integrate to offer usage-based pricing, simplifying the process and ensuring security and scalability.

With a clear vision in mind, I set out to build Upcred.it. The primary challenge was to create an API that was not only robust and secure but also easy to integrate into various products. Upcred.it handles all aspects of usage-based pricing, from managing credits and processing payments to ensuring security.

By connecting Upcred.it with Lemonsqueezy, I enabled direct adding of credits after a user completes a payment. This integration showcased how Upcred.it can be used to provide a seamless and user-friendly payment experience, allowing users to pay only for what they use.
