I was commissioned by GWI to create a looping 60-second product animation that showcases the dynamic capabilities of their platform. Built entirely in Rive, the animation is super lightweight and optimised for web.

The goal was to deliver a seamless loop that could hold viewer attention while conveying key product features in an engaging and accessible way.

Darragh from GWI provided a beautifully mapped-out storyboard in Figma, complete with key project details and motion reference guides. From there, I imported all the assets into Rive and began mapping out a plan for how the animation would come together.

To keep things modular and manageable, I broke the project down into three key scenes, each looping seamlessly within the state machine. To manage complexity, I made use of nested artboards, allowing me to isolate and refine more intricate elements without cluttering the main timeline.

For character movement, I used IK constraints and bones to accurately connect limbs, ensuring natural and flexible motion. By carefully applying target constraints, I was able to gain precise control over how the character animated.

This project was a great example of creative collaboration and the power of real-time animation. Working closely with GWI, I was able to bring their product story to life in a way that’s both engaging and technically efficient. The final result is a polished, loopable animation -delivered fully in Rive and weighing in at just 438KB??!
