Overview

Freedom to Launch is the paid client-services arm I stood up inside 4.0 Schools, a fifteen-year-old education nonprofit.
Two problems met in the middle. The organization needed earned revenue to extend its runway. Its community of early-stage founders needed design and build support they could actually afford — professional-caliber work priced for someone pre-revenue.
I treated the studio itself as a product. I designed the brand, built the website, defined the service tiers, and wrote the intake and delivery process before we took on a single client.

What I built

Brand and website — naming, visual identity, and a Framer marketing site that explains the offer to non-technical founders in terms of what they get, not what we do.
Service tiers — three fixed-price packages (Branding & Landing Page, Marketing & Storytelling, MVP Development) with scope drawn tightly enough that margin stayed positive even on small engagements. A fixed price is a promise you can only keep if the scope is real.
Intake and scoping — qualification criteria and a proposal process, so we only took work that was scoped, funded, and agreed in writing. The fastest way to lose money running a studio is to start before all three are true.
Delivery framework — PRD templates, user-testing protocols, and documentation standards reused across every engagement, so the second project cost less to run than the first.

What changed

The studio generated 4.0's first earned revenue in its fifteen-year history — roughly $10,000 in year one. The number matters less than what it proved: a nonprofit could sell services to its own community without compromising the mission that community came for.
Five ventures went from inception to shipped inside that first year, among them ReframeXR, ASELA by MindCatcher, Kindred, and the Rooted School $50 Study dashboard.
The studio is still operating.

I built a client-services studio inside a 15-year-old education nonprofit and treated it as a product — brand, Framer site, fixed-price tiers, intake and delivery framework. It produced the organization's first earned revenue ever.
