Blonde by Frank Ocean

Infographics have many different purposes. They can tell a story, make an argument, or to just inform their audience. Utilizing design strategies in rhetorically purposeful ways, I created an infographic based on alternative R&B artist Frank Ocean's Blonde. Creating two versions based on his original and alternative cover, this infographic's purpose is to inform audiences about the album. Based on research, I included the streaming statistics of the album's most successful tracks and included a brief explanation of the album. There are some iconic lyrics that can be recognized if you listened to the album. I wanted to include these elements in my infographic because they add to the storytelling and thought processes that Ocean put into this album.
Some rhetorical elements that I included are images, and scale/proportion. When creating the infographic, I wanted to base it on the album cover. Frank Ocean released Blonde in white/gray and an alternative cover in black. Basing off of the audience's perspective, I chose the white/gray and black/red color scheme. This led to the picking of images. When picking the visual, I first chose the photo he used for the album. Seeing the empty space on the left, I added another photo of him from the same photoshoot he had when making the album. I made the second photo of him smaller to help balance out the infographic. For the visual pieces next to the texts I wanted them to relate to what the text was talking about or to Ocean himself. It helps visually represent what is being explained in the text or a nod to his works.
