Living in a dorm or a boarding house as a university student can be a bit high maintenance since you also have to think about the necessities by yourself. This includes food; not many dorms and boarding houses offer space that lets you have your own kitchen so you can’t exactly cook up some meals when you need them. Moreover, being in college means dealing with a hectic schedule so if we were to have a kitchen in our rooms, we won’t have the time to brew up something to eat because we are too focused on academics.
One other thing about this whole problem is that doing groceries can also be time- and money-consuming, especially since we can’t always ensure that the supplies we buy will be consumed at the appropriate time span. Carinderias and eateries aren’t always open, especially when we need to eat late at night, and most fast food restaurants can be too pricey for our budgets as students.
That being said, we are proposing a meal kit delivery application called MiaMeal that will serve as a meal kit subscription and delivery service within Miagao, Iloilo City for those who live in dorms and would prefer not to worry about looking for food or thinking of what to eat during meal times.
