The Best Steakhouse in Oregon: Review
Despite Oregon’s large vegan and vegetarian population, there are numerous restaurants that offer mouth-watering primes and delicious ribeyes sure to make non-meat eaters rethink their decision. As a self-identified meatatarian, I pride myself on finding the best steaks wherever I go, and while nothing can beat my all-time favorite steakhouse, Keens in NY, NY, RingSide Steakhouse in Portland is high up on my list of favorite steakhouses in America.
Known for their mile-long waiting lines, RingSide has been a favorite of both Oregon natives and tourists for over 60 years and it is not hard to see why. This steakhouse is a must for meat-lovers and fine-diners alike. The atmosphere of Ringside is exquisite and has a very comfortable and old-school vibe. The boxing-themed restaurant hosts dozens of incredibly friendly waitstaff members ready to bless your tastebuds with incredible cuisine.
From an extensive wine list to premium slabs of beef, RingSide never fails to delight. All of the cuts of meat they sever have been aged for a minimum of 30 days and are the meat quality meat Oregon has to offer. Their bone-in filet mignon is by far my favorite item on the menu. This mouthwatering cut of meat is the perfect addition to your Oregon adventures. Traveling as a pair? RingSide offers steak for two. This massive slab of meat will fill up both you and your date, but make sure to save room for dessert!
The perfect addition to RingSide’s delicious steak is a glass of wine from their incredibly impressive wine list. With over 700 different bottles on the menu, you are sure to find one to pair perfectly with your meal. This extensive cellar contains bottles from all around the world ensuring a perfect fit for each guest, despite preference. RingSide also offers 11 imported beers, 14 domestic beers, and six beers on draft.
In addition to their world-famous steaks and delicious drinks, RingSide also offers incredible onion rings. Made with locally-grown sweet onions and deep-fried to perfection, these onion rings offer a soft and delicious onion inside with a crisp outside. I highly recommend pairing these with a side of their housemade ranch dressing to make your tastebuds explode. Along with their onion rings, RingSide also after several other delicious sides including their fluffy, loaded baked potato.
The ricotta cheesecake is the best way to finish off your evening on a high note. This sweet and delicate dessert is one of the best slices of cheesecake I have ever had and I cannot recommend it enough. It is light and airy, but still dense enough to hold itself up, a key component to any good cheesecake.
Should you find yourself in or around Oregon, RingSide is a must. From their world-class service to their melt-in-your-mouth 28-day ages steaks, you really cannot go wrong. If you want to check them out but are a bit deterred by their traditional steakhouse pricing, try visiting during happy hours between 5-10 pm. These are the best times to get the best deals.
