Before the internet, if you wanted to deposit a check, withdraw money, or do anything else with your money, you had to go talk to a teller. With ATMs and mobile banking, the dependence on tellers is no longer needed, saving the customer valuable time and freeing up the tellers' time to do more critical tasks.
My job was to help build trust and familiarity with ATMs and mobile banking. When a client comes in to deposit a check or some cash, I had the opportunity to tell them about mobile banking and if I was able to get some initial interest, I would show them how to use the app or the ATM.
One of my proudest moments on the job was when a business client came in. He started complaining about how he had multiple checks and scanning them in the app one-by-one was a pain, which is why he felt like he had to go in-person to get them deposited. Listening to him, I recognized that Bank of America had a solution for him: Remote Deposit Online, which allows him to deposit multiple checks with a special device issued by the bank. Seeing his gratitude for showing him this tool made me proud that I was able to help him.
