The first project I did as a freelance graphic designer was a PowerPoint presentation about the governing bodies of a cooperative and their fiduciary responsibilities for a lawyer that was going to give a seminar at a cooperative. He gave me the necessary legal materials that I would need to study to understand the purpose of the seminar and the creative freedom to design the presentation. I would ask him questions if there were specific subjects that I didn't understand and consult with him about the visuals of the presentation. We worked together with his secretary to proofread all of the information and maintain visual consistency with the colors and fonts of the presentation. On the day of the seminar, I helped the lawyer bring and set up the computer and projector used to display the presentation, as well as distribute physical copies of the presentation so the audience could keep it for future reference. I moved the slides as he talked during the seminar.
