Chapter 1

Lara had always wondered what was in her grandmother's attic. She was fascinated by the collection of historical and enigmatic artifacts from the place. She loved to rummage through the boxes, furniture, books, and pictures that preserved her family's history.
Lara made the decision to go up to the attic one day while she was at her grandmother's house to look for something intriguing. She wouldn't notice her absence because her grandmother was busy in the kitchen. In an effort not to make noise, Lara carefully climbed the stairs. She walked into the shadows after opening the attic door.
Her surroundings came into focus as she turned on the light. The attic was a large, dusty area with wooden beams and a tiny window. She wasn't sure where to start because there was so much going on. "Memories of mom" was written on a box that she Lara approached. Curiously, she opened it and discovered inside it a series of her mother's personal belongings, who had died when she was very young.
There was a stuffed animal, a diary, a photograph and a necklace. After taking the picture, Ella Lara carefully examined it. It was a picture of her mother when she was a child, smiling with her grandmother and a man she thought was her grandfather. The thought of what she had missed made Lara experience a moment of sadness. What would her mother be like, how would she feel about her, and what would she say to him?
She replaced the photograph in the box and continued searching. Among the objects she discovered was a leather-bound journal with a padlock. When she tried to open it, it was locked. She was curious about the contents of her mother's diary. Perhaps she will have a chance to learn more about herself there.
She searched for the key in the attic but was unsuccessful. She left the diary in the box out of frustration. She continued looking around her until she found something interesting. It was a large oval mirror with floral carvings and a gilt frame. A white cloth covered the mirror, which was leaning against the wall.
The cloth was removed when Lara approached the mirror. The mirror was so beautiful that she was taken aback. It looked like a piece from a fairy tale. In the mirror, Lara saw herself. Her skin was fair, she had green eyes and curly brown hair. She shared many similarities with her mother in appearance.
In response to Lara's smile, the mirror smiled back at her. But then she Lara discovered something strange. The reflection of her seemed to move a little differently from her. She seemed to have a separate life.
The mirror in Ella Lara's room also frowned. Lara noticed her reflection winking, but she hadn't done it before.
After getting scared, she Lara backed away. Her reflection fixed her gaze on him.
Lara asked with a trembling voice: "Wha... what are you?"
The mirror remained silent but continued to smile.
Lara insisted: "What do you want?"
She gestured to the mirror for I moved closer with a wave of my hand, but the mirror remained silent.
Fear and curiosity were present in Lara. What would she do, what would she show him, what would she say to him if she went to the mirror?
Lara prepared herself before approaching the mirror.
