Korean beauty has a specific visual language. Soft. Quiet. Nothing screaming for attention. House of Hur embodies that perfectly, so when I chose this brand as a reference for a concept piece, the brief I gave myself was simple: make the product feel like a whisper, not a shout.
The entire project revolves around restraint. Two close-up hero shots and one animation, all built around the cleansing water bottle. No props, no set dressing, no color splashes. Just the product, the glass, and the light.
Getting glass right in 3D is deceptively hard. The refraction has to be physically accurate or it immediately looks fake. I spent most of my time on the bottle material alone: tuning the glass thickness, the liquid density inside, and how light bends through both layers simultaneously. At this zoom level, you can see the label print texture, the cap threading, the meniscus where liquid meets glass. Every detail had to survive a macro lens.
The lighting borrows from K-beauty editorial photography. Broad, wrapping, almost shadowless. It makes the product feel approachable and clean without losing dimension. There's a subtle gradient on the background that keeps the eye anchored on the bottle.
For the animation, I wanted the camera to drift through the product slowly enough that you register each surface. The liquid shifts inside the bottle as it moves, which is a small detail but it's the thing that makes people pause and think "wait, is this a real shoot?"
Built entirely in Blender. Modeled, textured, lit, animated, rendered.
Spec/concept piece for portfolio purposes. Not affiliated with or created for House of Hur.
