Skincare brands that position themselves as "clean" all start to look the same after a while. White background, green leaf, sans-serif font. I wanted to see if I could make a face scrub feel clinical and trustworthy without falling into that visual cliché.
The lighting does most of the storytelling here. It's studio-style, controlled, almost medical in how evenly it reveals the tube surface. But there's enough warmth in the fill to keep it from feeling sterile. That balance (precision without coldness) was the whole point.
Where this project gets interesting is the texture work. The scrub granules visible through the tube opening, the matte finish on the packaging, the subtle surface imperfections on the cap. When the camera gets close enough to see those details, the viewer stops thinking about whether it's CGI. They just see a product.
The animation is built around that idea. Slow reveals, tight framing, the camera lingering on material details long enough for them to register. No flashy transitions. The product doesn't need them.
I built every material from scratch in Blender: the tube plastic, the scrub particle geometry, the cap threading. Full control over how light interacts with each surface means I can match any brand's visual tone, not just this one.
Spec/concept piece for portfolio demonstration. Not affiliated with any existing brand.
