Overview

Starbar makes lemonades, tonics, and bitters. Each product line had its own visual identity — which gave individual labels personality, but left the brand without a coherent whole. The goal was to build something that held across all product categories and carried through to a digital presence, with lemonades as the primary focus.

Challenge

There was no overarching brand identity beyond individual product labels. Lemonades, tonics, and bitters each looked like they came from different brands. There was no digital presence worth having, no scalable visual system, and multiple touchpoints — web, social, marketplace, print — that all needed to work together.

Process

I started with brand analysis and competitor research to understand where Starbar sat and where it could go. Rather than building from scratch, I anchored the visual direction in what already existed — the product label — and built outward from there. The resulting system was designed to work across all product categories and scale as the brand grew. I extended it across web, social, marketplace, and print assets, and designed and built the responsive website.

Results

What had been a collection of visually disconnected products became a single craft-driven brand with a clear identity. The system gave Starbar consistency, clarity, and room to grow. The project turned into a long-term partnership — including ongoing design support under a yearly contract and work on additional brands within the group.
