Planet Surf: Lessons in paradise

Planet.Surf, a booking website for surf lessons, is the biggest real life project I've been involved. I joined the team after the design system was created and the MPV was about to be launched. In my fifth month in the company, the website was finally live.

I was preparing for the Phase 2 now. The next phase would include massive changes in the lesson creation flow and many other places. It would take a while, probably a couple of months. After that, I was planning to redesign the design system accordingly. But the funding didn't come.

We followed a certain design process:

Issues are assigned to me on GitHub,

I'm given the brief,

I design or improve the parts in question using our design system,

Our PM controls and gives feedback, whether it's applicable by developers,

Our co-founder gives feedback,

Our stakeholders give feedback,

I apply the feedback and hand them off to developers,

After they apply my designs, I check the website.
