Community Engagement & Marketing Internship at GCDS

At the Georgia Center for Developmental Science (GCDS) at UGA, I contributed to enhancing community engagement through digital marketing strategies. As the first Marketing & Community Engagement Intern, I helped shape their online presence and branding.

My key contributions included:

Created engaging social media content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Assisted with website optimization using SquareSpace to improve user experience.

Supported email campaigns to enhance stakeholder communication.

Helped standardize branding across digital platforms.

Contributed to streamlining marketing workflows.

Developed a documentation guide for future interns.

I contributed to enhancing the website’s visual appeal and accessibility by redesigning key elements like the navigation menu and color scheme.

The original website had a cluttered navigation bar and inconsistent colors, making navigation difficult. Using my expertise in Squarespace, I redesigned key elements, including a streamlined menu and a cohesive color palette, to enhance both usability and visual appeal. These updates created a more intuitive and professional user experience.

I also developed and managed social media content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X, tailoring strategies to each platform’s audience and objectives. Instagram and Facebook prioritized participant engagement and recruitment through fun facts, events, and team highlights. LinkedIn focused on professional updates, research news, and job opportunities, while X provided real-time updates and connected with broader industry conversations.
