Project description. I am immensely proud of the final outcome of this Cinematic Teaser for Joshua Krook book, Eloquent Graffiti. It was a deeply rewarding project and a pure narrative exercise: translating the elegantly crafted cover by Xavier Comas at Coverkitchen into a soft, soothing, and sophisticated motion asset. The soundtrack curated from Alex Cristoforetti's library.

Given such a direct, conceptual cover— without the usual narrative materials that could populate a cover—the challenge was clear: how to convey the necessary emotion to the viewer? No strange, the synopsis carries quite a lot of stress (reinventing oneself, or rediscovering onseself is never that easy right? Some things are going to be broken, just as the cover suggest).

Rather than overthinking the concept - let's go with rounded wheels, not sqaured wheels - I chose to directly adapt the narrative arc already established graphically by the cover. I used a 3D model and developed a special shader to get that flat look and presented the action itself in all its glory. And it works perfectly and elegaltly just as the book cover.

We worked over several versions of the music, to check how emotionally those could connect with the audience, and I also produced a 9:16 vertical adaptation for digital channels. The final piece is now live for you to enjoy!
