Emmanuel Nnamdi

He was a very powerful king who commanded thousands and conquered all the land. But he died suddenly, was reborn, and now has to live differently.
A king is seen as he attacks and destroys people and places on his way to conquest, and while doing that, he keeps thinking to himself that he is king. As he is looking at his crown and sword, he finds himself floating in water and hears a voice that tells him that to please, in his new life, seek the light. He wakes up to see a man named Reynold and a woman named Alice, gusing over how Arthur has his father’s eyes and his mother’s hair. He is wondering to himself who they are and begins to question if he has been reborn.
Alice is taking care of Arthur, while Arthur ponders on how Alice and Reynolds are taking good care of him, and they say that he is their child. He agrees that he has been reborn but still feels uneasy at the fact that he has no control over bodily functions and has to have himself cleaned up by Alice or Reynolds. He wonders how he feels like his body is a prison and that he wants to wake up, but this dream refuses to let him go.
Reynold stands in front of their house before powering up his hands and then punching a rock to dust. He turns to be congratulated by his wife and child and is hit with a falling piece of the rock he just destroyed and Alice comes up to him and heals him, while Arthur is genuinely fascinated by the powers available and wonders what strange power is available in this world. Reynold fights monsters with other people. When he returns home, Arthur speaks about how he continues to intently examine his surroundings because, as they say, knowledge is power. Reynold wants to hug his family and is wearing his guntlets from engaging in battle with a monster. Arthur thinks about how society is one where individuals are allowed to own weapons and decides that that indicates there is a level of danger in the world and that he should obtain power for himself as quickly as possible. Alice worries that it has been a while since Reynold last haunted, and he tells her that it was a quick job. Arthur complains that life can be frustrating, but moments like this aren't so bad because freedom to sleep when he wants to isn’t something he's accustomed to. After all, as a leader in his world, assassations were constantly occurring.
Time has gone by, and Arthur seems to be learning to crawl. His parents are frightful as he crawls up to a mirror and looks at himself in the mirror. He thinks about how he is not yet to used said the name Arthur. what he sees it as being of little concern. His mother puts him down to sleep, and after she leaves, he climbs down from the cradle and crawls to the library, picks up a book, and deliberates on how knowledge is power, and he has finally obtained knowledge in the world in which he was born. The continent he had been born on is called Dicathen. It is home to three kingdoms. The Darv Kingdom is an underground kingdom of dwarves. The Elenoir Kingdom is a nation of elves deep inside a forest. The Sapin Kingdom, where he was born and currently lives, is the most populous nation and is inhabited by humans. Like his own Kingdom, it is a monarchy, but the difference seems to be that the truth is inherited and not seized. He pulls out another book from the shelf and thinks on how compared to his world, this one seems to be quite primitive in their technology under the book his wits explains why their technologies relatively primitive.
Magic, this seems to be a process called mana in this world, and the ability to control mana is largely hereditary, and only one in every 100 people seem to have the ability. There are two broad applications of mana: Augmenting and Conjuring. Augmenters can use mana to enhance their body, providing incredible strength, defense, and agility. Conjurers are able to project mana and control it however they please. The key to controlling mana is the mana core, Most people tap into their powers at the onset of puberty or lead teens. By channeling the manner in your body into a single point called a mana core and mastering control over it, one becomes a mage.
Arthur is acquainted with a similar concept, Ki. The ability to manipulate Ki is all done at the center of your Ki. He wonders if this knowledge from his previous life will serve as a weapon. As he begins to meditate, his mother comes in and picks him up and scolds him for making her worry she then asks if he has pooped. In his mind, he believes he hasn’t, but on checking, finds out he has and once again laments on the fact that his baby body is a prison. And vows to obtain power.
Alice is journaling on how it has been two years since Arthur was born and how is this sweet child but that they have never seen him smile. She looks outside and sees Arthur practicing with a stick as a make-believe sword and scolds Reynold for allowing him only after he learnt to walk. Arthur and Alice go to the town, Arthur thinks on the fact that by coming to town, he is able to obtain vital information on the world that he lives in. From the weapons to materials he is not familiar with and most of all, magic, he is quite happy with the life his parents have provided and that he agrees with the warmth that they bring. He remembers his old life and growing up in an orphanage.
Reynolds is practicing his magic, and Arthur watches and wonders how he can't keep doing nothing. Alice takes Arthur to have a nap, and he uses his baby eyes to make her take him to the library instead, which she falls for, and he begins to practice forming his mana core. While Alice and Reynold are outside, an explosion rocks the house, and they run in to check on their son, only to find him floating in mid-air after forming his mana core. Arthur is happy at his achievement, as he makes his way to his parents, a piece of the ceiling begins to fall on him, and he thinks that he is about to die again. But his parents rush and save him. Alice begins to cry tears of joy and so those Reynold, but Arthur ant understand what is happening and realizes that there are some things you cant learn in literature and also begins to cry and wonder what this feeling is.
