One app, a few employees, and two weeks.

That was what it took to create a promotional explainer for Propeller.

Working with Culture Partners, I saw the potential of Propeller, an app that leverages the concepts in the New York Times best selling book The Oz Principle to empower teams and achieve results.

One of the authors wrote the script and then handed it off to me for literally everything else. Very excited about the opportunity to bring this video to life, I got to work straight away with production.

Using green screen for this production, I transformed the training room at Partners In Leadership into a studio for the shoot, I shot the entire project in a single day using employees at Partners In Leadership as talent for the video. This helped control costs.

Propeller was still in development at the time this video was being produced. So we were not able to gather screen recordings of the product. That meant all of the app animations that appear in the video were built and animated in Adobe After Effects using wireframes in Sketch.

Using some simple motion tracking techniques and intentional camera angles, we were able to ground the app with our talent using Mocha in After Effects.
