Malaysia’s largest public charging network & electric vehicle charging solutions provider.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
ChargEV is the nation’s largest public charging network operating over 300 charging points nationwide. The mission is to provide the Malaysian public with access to the necessary charging infrastructure to power their electric journeys. Hence a mobile application is needed for its user to book and use the service.
KEY CONSIDERATIONS
1. User-centered Design: The app should be designed with the end user in mind and should provide a simple and intuitive user experience.
2. Real-time information: The app should provide real-time information about the availability and status of charging stations, including their location, the number of available charging ports, and the charging speed.
3. Easy Navigation: The app should be easy to navigate and provide clear, concise information about charging stations, pricing, and payment options.
4. Secure Payments: The app should provide secure payment options for users to pay for charging sessions.
5. Integration with Charging Station Networks: The app should integrate with multiple charging station networks, allowing users to access a large network of charging stations.
6. Push Notifications: The app should provide push notifications to alert users when their charging session is complete or if there are any issues with the charging station.
7. Map-based User Interface: The app should provide a map-based user interface that allows users to easily find and navigate to nearby charging stations.
CORE VALUE PROPOSITION
The core value proposition of designing an EV charging station app is to provide a convenient, reliable, and user-friendly solution for electric vehicle (EV) owners to find and access charging stations. The app should aim to make the charging experience hassle-free and seamless for users, with the following key features:
Real-time Information: The app should provide real-time information about the availability and status of charging stations, including their location, the number of available charging ports, and the charging speed.
Easy Navigation: The app should be easy to navigate and provide clear, concise information about charging stations, pricing, and payment options.
Seamless Payment: The app should provide secure payment options for users to pay for charging sessions, allowing them to avoid the hassle of handling cash or payment at the charging station.
Wide Network Coverage: The app should integrate with multiple charging station networks, allowing users to access a large network of charging stations.
User-centered Design: The app should be designed with the end user in mind and should provide a simple and intuitive user experience.
By offering these key benefits, the EV charging station app can help to increase the adoption of electric vehicles and make the charging experience more convenient for users.
MY ROLE
I was part of the design team and responsible for the experience strategy and design of the iOS app. I lead the UI work, producing all major deliverables and worked alongside a junior UI Architect who focused on the Android app.
