Orchid Beauty and Hair Salon Website design and Development

A premium digital presence designed and developed from scratch for a new beauty destination in Durg, India.

01 — The Context

Starting from zero.

Orchid Beauty & Hair Salon is a new women's beauty and hair salon in Durg, India. When I approached the owner with the idea of creating a website, there was no existing digital experience to build upon. The website would become Orchid's first dedicated digital touchpoint.

The brief

Create a minimal, premium website that introduces Orchid, showcases its services, communicates the salon experience, and gives visitors a simple way to request an appointment.

The website should feel warm, feminine and premium — without becoming complicated.

02 — The Challenge

How do you build trust for a business that has no digital history?

Orchid was entering the market without an established website or a large digital audience. The challenge wasn't redesigning an existing experience—it was creating the foundation for one.
Establish credibility : Create an immediate impression that reflected the quality and atmosphere of the physical salon.
Simplify discovery : Organize a broad range of beauty and hair services into an experience that visitors could scan without feeling overwhelmed.
Encourage enquiries : Give visitors a clear path toward requesting an appointment while keeping the experience calm rather than overly sales-driven.

03 — The Design Direction

Designing a softer kind of premium.

The client wanted a warm, feminine visual direction, so I built the interface around softness, restraint and editorial composition rather than the highly decorative aesthetic often associated with beauty websites.

Warm Palette

A warm, feminine palette creates a welcoming atmosphere while keeping the interface sophisticated.

Editorial Typography

Serif-led typography introduces a more refined, editorial character and gives the brand room to breathe.

Photography First

Large imagery lets visitors experience the atmosphere of the salon before asking them to process information.

Space & Restraint

Generous spacing keeps the experience calm and prevents the service-heavy content from becoming overwhelming.

Make the website feel like an extension of the salon, not a digital brochure.

04 — Designing the Experience

From first impression to appointment.

01 / The First Impression

The homepage begins with atmosphere rather than information. The hero introduces the salon through its environment, visual identity and positioning before moving visitors toward services and booking.

02 / Making Services Discoverable

Orchid offers a broad range of beauty and hair services, so the challenge was creating hierarchy without turning the homepage into a catalogue. Services are grouped and presented progressively, allowing visitors to scan the offering and continue deeper when something catches their attention.

03 / Building Trust Through Story

For a new salon, trust can't rely on years of digital presence. The experience therefore gives space to Orchid's story, environment and people, helping visitors understand the business behind the services.

04 / A Clear Route to Enquiry

The booking journey is deliberately simple. Rather than introducing unnecessary third-party scheduling software, I used Framer's native form system to create a direct appointment enquiry flow.
Submissions are delivered directly to the salon's Gmail account, giving the owner a straightforward way to manage enquiries while maintaining the privacy and low-interruption experience they preferred.

05 — Content That Can Grow

Built for what comes next.

Orchid's website shouldn't become difficult to maintain as the business grows. I structured the content so new stories and visual content can be added without rebuilding the experience.

CMS-powered Blog

The blog is powered by Framer CMS, giving Orchid a flexible space to publish future beauty, hair and skincare content.

Gallery

The gallery creates a visual archive of the salon and its work, giving the business an easy way to continuously refresh the experience.

06 — Interaction & Motion

Motion with a purpose.

The client specifically wanted the website to feel premium and interactive. Rather than adding animation everywhere, I used motion to support hierarchy, transitions and the feeling of moving through the salon experience.
Responsive interactions
Scroll-based transitions
Hover states
Image movement/reveals
Micro-interactions
Navigation transitions

07 — From Design to Development

Designed and built in Framer.

I owned the project end-to-end, moving from the initial visual direction and interface design into a responsive Framer implementation.
01 — Design
Defined the visual language, layouts, hierarchy and responsive behavior.
02 — Build
Translated the design into reusable Framer components and responsive layouts.
03 — CMS
Structured the blog content so it could grow independently from the core website.
04 — Forms
Connected Framer's native form system to the client's email workflow.
05 — SEO
Prepared the site structure and metadata for discoverability ahead of domain launch.
06 — Iterate
Refined the experience through multiple rounds of feedback with the client.

08 — Iteration

The first version wasn't the final version.

Over 2–3 weeks, the experience went through multiple rounds of refinement based on client feedback. Layouts, content hierarchy, visual details and interactions were adjusted until the website felt aligned with the client's expectations.

09 — The Outcome

A digital foundation for a new business.

The result is Orchid's first dedicated digital presence: a responsive Framer website that brings together its services, story, gallery, content and appointment journey in one cohesive experience.
Responsive website
Service discovery
Appointment enquiry flow
Contact form
CMS-powered blog
Gallery
Interactive motion
Responsive Framer development
SEO foundations
The final domain has not yet been connected, so meaningful post-launch traffic and conversion metrics aren't available yet. The site is structured and optimized to provide that foundation once Orchid goes live.

10 — Closing

A first impression worth remembering.

Orchid didn't need a complicated website. It needed a digital experience that felt as considered as the business it represented.
Designed from scratch. Built in Framer.
