They're backed by a powerhouse cap table: Kleiner Perkins led their $6M seed round, with Formation, BoxGroup, The House Fund, and top operators across financial services joining in. Their team brings deep research and engineering experience from Berkeley AI Research, PayPal, Snowflake, Microsoft, Next Insurance, and Trunk Tools, and their first flagship partner is FM Home Loans. Balerion came to us with a clear ask: they were announcing the company, the product, and the seed round all at once, and they needed a launch site that could carry the weight of the moment. Launching an agentic AI platform aimed at some of the most conservative, compliance-heavy buyers in the country (mortgage lenders) is a balancing act.
