Instagram Reel/Event Promotion - James Sewell Ballet Show

About the project

This is a series of short reels that promote a ballet show for James Sewell Ballet in Minneapolis by Snack Media. As a part of Snack, I contributed as a camera operator and lead editor for this account to produce 2 videos that introduce the composer, choreographer as well as all dancers and musicians behind the production of the show Unfashioned Creature.

Process

Upon receiving the project brief, we worked with the Executive Producer to finalize the details of the shoot, including:

• location (on-site)
• interviewees
• other talents
• questions for interviews

We then spent 3 hours to shoot b-rolls on site as well as interviews of the actual dance practice and coached talents to deliver to tell the story of what inspired them to create the show.

Post-production included:

• video layout
• color grading
• sound engineering
• name titles and show banners added in After Effects
