This is not a book review. More of an update. So recently I've found that I barely come across novels or stories that I want to finish. I end up stopping halfway. Not because it's not interesting or anything but mostly because I've read that exact trope or contents in another totally random book.
So while I wanted to be angry and disappointed, I remembered that every single story has been written before. Every single thing that happens to us in real life has happened to someone else before, probably even worse the only difference being in the main characters.
So I've decided to focus on the main characters. On how they navigate these cliché situations. Since I'm of the opinion that all humans as well as characters are different and special in their own way, I've decided to give them the chance to show me what they are all about.
Because the truth is, if writers stopped writing out of fear that someone else has written what they are about to start writing, there will soon be no books left to read in this world.
Anyway, it all boils down to this one saying I saw once, “I think new writers are too worried that it has all been said before. Sure it has, but not by you.” — Asha Dornfest.
